James Van Der Beek was ready to rage at Us Weekly's annual Hot Hollywood style party at Hollywood's Emerson Theatre Apr. 18. "I'm just looking forward to having a night out with my wife," the honoree said of Kimberly, whom he married in 2010. "That's enough for me." The Don't Trust the B---- in Apt. 23 actor said he was flattered to make this year's list, which also features Mindy Kaling and Kristen Bell. "This is fun. I like it," Van Der Beek told Us. "It's better than being on the Cold Hollywood list! That party's no fun at all." The Office's Ellie Kemper, meanwhile, revealed that she was excited to meet fellow honorees Rich Sommer, Jay R. Brother from another mother: Lamar Odom parties with his favourite in-law Rob Kardashian until 2am

In amidst all the inorganic exchanges on the various reality shows pushed by the Kardashians, there are a few moments that really seem genuine. Many of them come from the triumvirate of Lamar Odom, his wife Khloe and her little brother Rob. Khloe, 28, is closest in age to the one boy in the family, who's still only 26, and Lamar, who is the mature one of the three at 33, acts as a big brother to the young man. So it was sweet to see Lam affectionately putting his arm around Rob as they left a nightclub in Hollywood together on Wednesday night. The pair had enjoyed a boys' night out at Emerson nightclub in the party epicentre of Los Angeles and both appeared to have a nice, relaxed time. Rob needs Lamar at the moment, as it's not been an easy few months for him. His break up with Rita Ora was painfully messy and culminated with Rob Tweeting up a heartbroken storm laced with vitriol towards his lost love. I t was big sis Khloe who stepped into the virtual meltdown and told the 'kid' to take it easy. And it seems as though the married couple are making it their business to assist in Rob's revival. His recent dramatic weight gain suggests he isn't happy, he admitted on a February episode of Kourtney & Kim Take Miami: 'All I did was waste a lot of money and gain 40 pounds.' LA Clippers star Lamar hasn't always found life to be plain sailing, he went through a separation with the mother of his three children, Destiny, 17, Lamar Jr, 11, and Jayden, eight. And his 6½-month-old infant son Jayden died from SIDS while sleeping in his crib in New York. Odom's father is also a heroin addict, his cousin was shot and he and Khloe are dealing with very public fertility issues, but they still manage to smile through. So if anyone can help Rob put things in perspective, it's probably Lamar.

"The idea was to have the entire space fee like an old, run-down theater. We wanted the sense that you were entering a space that was always there," explains New York designer Mark Zeff of sbe's newest nightspot, Emerson Theatre. Housed in the former MyHouse space, it's a masterful interpretation of a 1920s theater-themed nightclub, which successfully recaptures a bygone area of dramatic burlesque theater and Old Hollywood style. Zeff - whose longstanding relationship with sbe has produced hotspots Greystone Manor and Mercato di Vetro, and they are collaborating again on a nightlife venue at the SLS Las Vegas - infused the club with touches like velvet curtains leading to the main entrance and distressed hardwoord floros topped with round banquettes. A DJ booth of brushed metal and glass presides over the dance floor, while wainscoting, painted and distressed, as well as bare concrete columns, brocade drapes, and patterned carpet complete the look. Lighting was another crucial element. Innovative light features built into stairs and underneath banquettes suffuse the seating areas with a glamorous golden glow. And there's the huge lighting canopy made up of endless strings of marquee lights, running the length of the nightclub and activating the two main bars that flank the dance floor. "The bars are like the jewelry of the space," says Zeff.

Kendra Wilkinson may have stopped diving in her spare time, but she is certainly still showing the results of her time on Splash. The glamour model looked extremely svelte as she attended the Us Weekly 2013 Hollywood Style Issue Event on Thursday. The 27-year-old arrived at The Emerson Theatre, in Hollywood, California, looking great in her fitted pink dress. The pretty frock featured a partly sheer top which almost exposed her cleavage as she graced the red carpet. Kendra looked sensational as she teamed the short sleeveless dress with a pair of platform silver heels. The reality television star was not the only woman in attendance going for a breathtaking appearance. Dancing With The Stars choreographer Chelsie Hightower looked splendid in a bright orange dress that showed off her legs. Her co-star Sharna Burgess also wowed in a tight fitting red dress which she was keen to show off on the red carpet. Another Dancing With The Stars professional Petra Murgatroyd played it a little safer in her blue dress while The Bachelor's Courtney Robertson raised her hemline on her yellow skirt. Real Housewives cast members Alexis Bellino and husband Jim Bellino made a cute pairing as Tia Mowry and husband Cory Hardrict gave them a run for their money. Hey Marilyn, you probably could have saved that smoke bomb, because none of the paparazzi were there for you. #Fact. Afterwards, once the smoke had cleared, two separate fire trucks arrived and the firemen looked PISSED when they were told by the bouncer that it was just a smoke bomb because famous people don’t like having their picture taken. By the time you're reading this, it could already be closed, but I was impressed when I was recently at The Emerson Theater, a glittery, gilded room that feels sufficiently majestic to justify the wallet-emptying cost of bottle service.
